Without a dedicated kitchen, kosher food preparation has to be brought in from off-site, which limits the experience considerably.

Every kosher event at Crystal Plaza is rabbi-supervised under the supervision of Vaad ha Koshrus of Metrowest, with Rabbi Yakov Teichman ensuring all operations meet the highest Glatt Kosher standards. The mashgiach works closely with our head chef and kitchen staff so every dish, every preparation, and every operation is fit for kosher consumption.

A Kosher Wedding, From the Shmorg to the After Party
A kosher wedding moves differently from many other celebrations, and our venue is built around that rhythm. Here's how the day typically unfolds with us.
The shmorg opens the celebration. Unlike weddings where cocktail hour follows the ceremony, a kosher wedding usually begins with the shmorg, short for smorgasbord, the cocktail hour that comes before the chuppah. It's typically a more generous spread than a standard cocktail hour, and it's where some of the most meaningful pre-ceremony traditions happen. Our Living Room is ideal for it, with a full-length mocha wood bar, a fireplace, and a connecting indoor-outdoor Garden Patio that opens the space right up.
During the shmorg, the tisch and bedeken take place. At the tisch, the groom sits with his father, the rabbi, and his male family and friends, and traditionally tries to give a few words of Torah while everyone around him interrupts with singing and joking. It's loud, joyful, and full of energy. The bedeken, the veiling, follows right after. The groom is walked, often with singing and dancing, to where the bride is seated, and he places her veil over her face. The tradition goes back to the story of Jacob, who was deceived into marrying the wrong sister because her face was covered, so the bedeken is the moment the groom confirms he's marrying his bride. For most families it's deeply emotional.
Then guests move to the chuppah. Once the shmorg winds down, everyone gathers for the ceremony. We offer several settings to say "I do," from the gazebo in our gardens to the Atrium beneath its fifty foot skylight. The chuppah is set with care, and our team works closely with your rabbi so every moment unfolds the way it should.
After the chuppah comes yichud. As your guests make their way into the ballroom, the two of you step away to the yichud room for a few private minutes together, the first time you're alone as a married couple. Yichud is a required part of the marriage under Jewish law, and many couples use it to share a quiet meal and catch their breath before the reception. We make sure the room is ready and the moment is protected.
Your entrance opens the reception. When you're ready, you make your grand entrance into the Grand Ballroom and the celebration is in full swing. Beneath over 30 crystal chandeliers, with seating for up to 380 guests, the ballroom carries every part of the reception, from first dances and speeches to the hora and long into the night.
When the reception winds down, the after party begins. We offer additional spaces, from the Living Room to the Atrium, to keep things going late into the evening. Many of our couples plan this final piece with us, and we're glad to help create the right close to the night.
For getting ready, our suites give you room to breathe. The Penthouse, a 3,000 sq. ft. private suite, has manicure stations, makeup chairs, and a full lounge area. The Vault, our sub-level VIP space, offers a golf simulator, barbershop, wine cellar, and more. Wherever you and your wedding party prepare, the morning is meant to feel unhurried.
